“Midnight Sun Festival” is an art and nature, electronic music festival that will take place on the majestic Arctic Island of Værøy in Lofoten from 16 to 22 july 2014. Located in a spectacular environment above the arctic circle, we invite the global family to join us on an adventure the world have never seen before. Combining cutting-edge electronic music and art with arctic nature and wildlife, our vision is to create an unique festival experience where people from all over the world can come together and celebrate the mystery and beauty of the Arctic Midnight Light. The Sun is almost always present. Only at night it moves a little bit towards the horizon.”In the far north of the land of Oden, alongside the coast of the Norwegian fjords – the ancient mountain range of Scando rises majestically from the ocean, pushing steep cliffs and snow capped peaks older than the Himalayas up high above the deep blue waters of the whales and orcas… thus creating one of the most spectacular and breathtakingly beautiful places on Earth: the islands of Lofoten…

Created within the Arctic Circle, summer here means the coming of the age of the never ending sunlight… For months, darkness never falls… The midnight sun shines from the sky for days on end, never descending further than for a long, tender twilight caress of a horizon ablaze in rose and golden flames… promising night but delivering dawn… Under these constantly luminous skies summer is celebrating conquering winter with a crescendo of life in full jubilant bloom… Soaked in the full strength of the Light, the glacier peaks are melting, the mountains blossom, the sea eagles spread their wings and sail in the warm breeze, and we – the children of Oden, we feel the energy rekindling our ancient urge to gather the tribes, to dance and celebrate life, ‘done ever since the dawn of mankind…

PROGRAM
There is mainly 2 musical areas;
SUN OBSERVATORY & SUN TEMPLE.

SUN OBSERVATORY is where you can relax or dance to a vast
variety of sounds from live, ethnic, ambient, down-beat and
up-beat electronic music as techno,tech,house,minimal and
progressive. As the stage with the longest timetable it is
also the stage with the widest expression of music.
Expect full audial and visual stimulation
from the serene surroundings.
